UrbanJam, prepared within the scope of Aks+ Future Studio, established within AnkaraAks, in partnership with Istanbul Planning Agency and Zemin Istanbul, is a game development competition focusing on the future of cities, aiming to establish a dialogue between game and interaction technologies, architecture and urbanism. UrbanJam, combining Urbanism and Game Jam, requires an interdisciplinary teamwork in a creative and productive competitive environment. During the four-day event held at the Florya Campus of the Istanbul Planning Agency, the participants were expected to develop games in accordance with the themes determined for the Istanbul Vision 2050 goals. As part of the competition, the team called "Chaotics", formed by our graduates Şevval Aksoy, Kübra Alver, Gülnur Cansu and architect Cansu Sözer, designed a board game within the theme of "Accessible and fair urban opportunities for all". By integrating the concepts of participation in decision-making processes and urban democracy, which constitute an important part of Vision 2050, into their games, the competition team developed a choice game that simulates the moves based on Istanbulites' understanding and contribution to the decision-making process through different social roles. They won the jury's special award with their game proposal "Chaos in Order", which aims to show how the order in the chaos or the chaos within the order in İstanbul can be affected by even the seemingly insignificant choices, reminding that each actor should not forget the city while thinking about their own interests, as in real life, and aiming to raise awareness that each decision made affects the whole city positively or negatively.
