Students in the TEDU Department of City and Regional Planning are expected to achieve the following learning outcomes:
- Ability to define problems within the context of planning; 1. Ability to integrate discipline knowledge, interdisciplinary approach, and knowledge from related fields in the problem-solving process.
- Ability to systematically design at different scales regarding the planning program and develop knowledge about materials and production methods within the scope of urbanization.
- Ability to use current information and communication technologies in thinking, producing, and presenting processes.
- Ability to express oneself in writing and orally in both Turkish and English.
- Ability to apply theoretical and empirical knowledge in practice.
- Developing self-discipline for lifelong learning, time management, methodological work, and research habits.
- Developing abstract, analytical, and relational thinking skills while internalizing design and planning concepts and processes.
- Ability to produce plans and proposals in line with the fundamental and universal principles of the planning field.
- Developing personal creativity and skills to convey creative thinking, perspectives, and solutions.
- Ability to evaluate existing knowledge and practices with appropriate research methods, qualified review, and ethical perspectives.
- Ability to develop a planning approach or project individually or as part of a group in a professional and participatory manner.
- Having social responsibility and ethical awareness in the planning discipline, the ability to define and evaluate the relationship between humans and the built environment within the context of social factors, human behavior, and cultural diversity.
